Senior Product Manager, DoD & SAFe
Overview
You will own the strategic direction and prioritization for all Combatant Command-facing products on the DRAID CDAO ADA IR program at the Pentagon. You will define what the program builds and why, ensuring every Epic and Use Case delivers measurable mission value. You will align CCMD stakeholders, Release Train Engineers, Solution Architects, and UX leads around a cohesive product vision. This role drives ART-level prioritization and PI Planning, with direct accountability for the program backlog. You will translate complex mission workflows into high-value capabilities, delivering at the scale of the Department of Defense.
What You'll Do8
- 1Define and communicate the product vision, roadmap, and priorities for all CCMD-facing capabilities, aligning them to mission outcomes and program objectives.
- 2Own ART-level backlog prioritization, ensuring Epics and Use Cases are clear, value-driven, and ready for decomposition by Product Owners.
- 3Lead PI Planning sessions, collaborating with the Release Train Engineer and cross-functional teams to sequence work and commit to program increments.
- 4Engage directly with CCMD stakeholders, DoD leaders, and operational users to gather requirements and validate that planned features meet mission needs.
- 5Partner with UX Design Lead and Solution Architect to ensure epics are technically feasible and user-centered before development starts.
- 6Work with Product Owners to refine ART-level epics into actionable user stories, maintaining alignment between strategic intent and execution.
- 7Drive the release train to deliver the highest-value features first, using SAFe ceremonies to inspect and adapt the plan across program increments.
- 8Define and track OKRs and KPIs that tie product execution to measurable mission outcomes, reporting progress to senior government and military leaders.
Requirements10
- 18+ years of product management experience shipping complex software, data, or analytics products end-to-end.
- 25+ years operating in a Scaled Agile Framework environment, with direct ownership of a program backlog and active leadership in PI Planning.
- 35+ years managing and aligning cross-functional teams across engineering, UX, and data/analytics disciplines.
- 43+ years supporting DoD, Intelligence Community, or federal customers with demonstrated understanding of mission workflows and acquisition environments.
- 5Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Business, Information Systems, or equivalent experience.
- 6Proven ability to define product vision, roadmaps, and OKRs/KPIs that tie execution to measurable outcomes.
- 7Strong proficiency with Jira, Jira Align, Azure DevOps, and Confluence.
- 8Excellent written, verbal, and visual communication skills, including briefing senior government and military leaders.
- 9Preferred: SAFe POPM certification, SAFe Agilist or SAFe Program Consultant certification.
- 10Preferred: Experience supporting CDAO, Joint Staff, or Combatant Command programs, and delivering AI/ML-enabled products.
