Senior Payroll Specialist, Expense Reporting & Concur
Overview
Own the end-to-end processing of expense reports for a high-volume, multi-state payroll department. You will apply company policy and government regulations to every transaction, ensuring accuracy and compliance. This role sits within a collaborative payroll team in Tempe, AZ, and involves Concur expertise. You will also support special projects and system testing, with potential for contract extension beyond 6 months.
What You'll Do10
- 1Process outside department expense report data accurately by the required deadline.
- 2Apply company policy and government regulations to all processing, including union and specialized workforce groups.
- 3Review audit reports for processing or system errors and request corrections as necessary.
- 4Research employee questions and provide resolution per company policy.
- 5Review contracts and apply special processing requirements for specialized workforce groups, such as unions.
- 6Assist in specialized processing and assigned projects requiring detailed payroll knowledge.
- 7Organize and maintain records to enable special processing that reduces incorrect expense report payments.
- 8Assist in special projects and testing of new processing systems and enhancements.
- 9Provide training as needed.
- 10Communicate all discrepancies to payroll supervisor as necessary.
Requirements9
- 15+ years working in a high-volume, multi-state payroll department.
- 2Associate's degree or equivalent experience/training.
- 3Familiarity with expense report processing.
- 4Effective with Concur.
- 5Familiarity with accounting principles.
- 6Knowledge of Microsoft Office including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
- 7Ability to use analytical skills to identify and address potential issues.
- 8Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines with minimal supervision.
- 9Ability to work as a team player in a high-stress environment.
