Overview

Senior Mechanical Engineer at PEMEX Deer Park will own static and rotating equipment in the assigned production area, delivering year-on-year improvements to asset integrity and reliability at a 340,000 BPD refinery. You will partner with Operations, Maintenance, and Central Engineering to drive safe operations and environmental performance. You will steward equipment care strategies and lead life cycle analyses for repair vs. replace decisions. This role offers cross functional collaboration with production, turnaround, and project engineering teams in a complex, safety focused environment.

What You'll Do11

  • 1Build strong relationships with Production, Maintenance, and Central Engineering teams to deliver reliable unit operation
  • 2Design and execute maintenance plans that improve asset integrity and reduce unplanned downtime within budget
  • 3Lead MOC, RCM, and ME processes to ensure compliant and cost effective asset care
  • 4Identify and close gaps in technical competence to become a rotating/static equipment technical assurer
  • 5Drive troubleshooting investigations for mechanical equipment failures and implement corrective actions
  • 6Contribute to multi year maintenance planning to improve asset reliability and profitability
  • 7Coordinate turnaround support for mechanical equipment surveillance and field execution
  • 8Monitor vibration and oil analysis data to proactively schedule maintenance and prevent failures
  • 9Support pre startup safety reviews and commissioning activities for field projects
  • 10Provide status updates on project scopes and ensure work is performed by appropriate teams
  • 11Support process safety initiatives and compliance through disciplined technical delivery

Requirements10

  • 1Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering
  • 2Minimum 5 years of experience in a related manufacturing or refining environment
  • 3Strong knowledge of maintenance and reliability concepts including Reliability Centered Maintenance and Management of Change
  • 4Proven troubleshooting and analytical communication skills
  • 5Ability to manage and prioritize multiple projects and work with diverse teams
  • 6Experience with rotating and static equipment and familiarity with industry codes and standards
  • 7Preferred CMPR certification and knowledge of risk assessment and structured problem solving
  • 8Authorization to work in the US on a full time basis
  • 9Willingness to work extended hours and in an outside petrochemical environment
  • 10Must be able to obtain Transportation Worker Identification Credential (TWIC)
