Crusoe seeks a Senior Manager Utility Contracts to lead the Energy Development Group in owning utility infrastructure agreements across data centers. This role drives negotiation, obligation management, and cross-functional collaboration to ensure seamless execution of construction and operational commitments.
What You'll Do11
- 1Lead utility infrastructure agreement negotiations for new and existing data center campuses including construction operating and transfer agreements
- 2Own the responsibility matrix for each project agreement ensuring all obligations are tracked with citations deadlines owners and statuses
- 3Conduct monthly deadline reviews and escalate at-risk items to maintain timely delivery
- 4Translate utility tariffs interconnection requirements and reliability obligations into actionable technical specifications
- 5Manage contractual aspects of customer-build programs covering design submissions procurement compliance commissioning and title transfers
- 6Act as liaison between EDG Real Estate Power Engineering Legal Finance and tenant teams coordinating milestone payments easements and operational protocols
- 7Provide executive visibility on obligation status upcoming deadlines and contract risks
- 8Negotiate complex infrastructure deals balancing commercial outcomes schedule protection and long-term relationships
- 9Maintain rigorous contract management systems reading footnotes catching cross-references and preventing reliance on memory
- 10Translate contract language into clear actions for engineering legal and executive stakeholders
- 11Implement or enhance obligation tracking tools to support large-scale project execution
Requirements10
- 18+ years in electric utility sector at a utility or as negotiator for large customers developers
- 2Deep proficiency in utility tariffs end-user connection requirements interconnection processes metering standards and reliability obligations NERC RTO ISO standards
- 3Hands-on experience with engineering procurement and construction lifecycle design reviews procurement standards commissioning and closeout
- 4Proven negotiation track record securing complex infrastructure agreements while protecting schedules and relationships
- 5Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail managing footnotes cross-references and documentation systems
- 6Ability to communicate contract language clearly to engineers real estate finance and executive teams
- 7Relocation flexibility to Dallas TX or San Francisco CA
- 8Experience with hyperscale data center large industrial or asset transfer agreements
- 9Familiarity with behind-the-meter structures customer-build lead lines or equity transfer agreements
- 10Background in contract lifecycle management or obligation tracking software
