What You'll Do14

  • 1Provide high-level expertise in instrumentation and controls systems for complex problem-solving related to power generation control systems
  • 2Collaborate with electrical and mechanical engineers to integrate control systems with plant systems
  • 3Oversee installation of control systems meeting design specifications and industry standards
  • 4Conduct and coordinate Factory Acceptance Testing and Site Acceptance Testing for control systems
  • 5Lead commissioning process to bring power plants online and troubleshoot issues
  • 6Implement real-time monitoring and data collection for performance assessment
  • 7Provide technical support during initial operations and train operations staff
  • 8Ensure compliance with safety standards and develop fail-safe redundancy measures
  • 9Drive quality assurance leadership by establishing control standards across projects
  • 10Participate in project planning and resource allocation for control systems tasks
  • 11Stay current with control systems and power generation technologies to propose upgrades
  • 12Propose system upgrades to improve performance and reduce operational costs
  • 13Resolve ambiguous situations and align cross-functional teams on design decisions
  • 14Drive complex projects through translation of telemetry and network diagrams into stakeholder plans

Requirements11

  • 15+ years building ETL pipelines with Spark and Airflow
  • 23-5 seasons leading large-scale control system implementations
  • 3Power Systems Experience in utility-scale power generation operations
  • 4Controls System Expertise in electrical power management or automation
  • 5Technical Understanding of PLCs and industrial control systems
  • 6Collaboration Skills across departments to achieve organizational goals
  • 7Communication Proficiency for presenting complex technical information
  • 8Data-Driven Passion for leveraging analytics to improve performance
  • 9Master’s degree in engineering or active PE license
  • 10Experience with Power Plant DCS or PLC-based control systems
  • 11Systems like SEL PowerMax or Ignition SCADA familiarity
