You will own the machining, assembly, and testing of high-precision air bearing spindle systems at KLA, working to micron-level tolerances. What You'll Do8
- 1Operate manual lathes, vertical and horizontal mills, surface grinders, drill presses, and honing, polishing, lapping, and finishing equipment to produce precision components.
- 2Assemble high-precision air bearing spindles and subassemblies, performing fitting, alignment, and adjustment to micron-level tolerances.
- 3Inspect components using micrometers, calipers, dial indicators, bore gauges, height gauges, and optical measuring equipment, documenting results.
- 4Conduct testing and performance verification of spindle systems, analyzing data to make mechanical adjustments that meet specifications.
- 5Read and interpret engineering drawings, GD&T, assembly procedures, and bills of materials to guide manufacturing and assembly.
- 6Maintain accurate production records, inspection data, and test documentation using computer-based systems.
- 7Troubleshoot and resolve issues in machining, assembly, or testing, applying problem-solving skills to achieve quality outcomes.
- 8Collaborate with engineers to improve manufacturing processes and product designs for air bearing systems.
Requirements10
- 14-6 years of related experience in manual machining and precision assembly.
- 2High school diploma or equivalent; technical school or apprenticeship preferred.
- 3Proven ability to operate manual lathes, milling machines, and surface grinders to tight tolerances.
- 4Experience with precision assembly of mechanical systems, including fitting, alignment, and adjustment.
- 5Skilled in using micrometers, calipers, dial indicators, and optical measuring equipment.
- 6Strong knowledge of GD&T and ability to read mechanical and assembly drawings.
- 7Experience with air bearing systems, spindles, motors, or rotating equipment preferred.
- 8Familiarity with balancing, vibration testing, and performance verification.
- 9Basic understanding of electronics and electromechanical systems.
- 10Ability to lift up to 40 pounds and stand for extended periods.
