Senior Litigation Marketing Manager, Regulatory
Overview
You will lead marketing and business development for the Regulatory practice group at Cooley LLP, a global law firm, driving client retention and revenue growth. You will report to the Associate Director of Marketing and collaborate with partners to design and execute thought leadership campaigns, RFP responses, and events that position the firm as a market leader. In this role, you will manage a marketing budget, supervise a team, and integrate lateral partner onboarding, making you the strategic engine for the practice's success. Your impact will be measurable within 90 days as you prioritize key initiatives and align resources with firm goals.
What You'll Do9
- 1Develop and execute annual marketing plans and budgets for the Regulatory practice, aligning with firm strategy and practice group leaders.
- 2Lead the marketing response to RFPs and RFIs, collaborating with the Pitch & Proposal team to craft winning pitches and credentials.
- 3Own the creation of core marketing collateral: practice descriptions, pitch decks, matter lists, and website content that reflect practice strengths.
- 4Drive directory and awards submissions, coordinating with stakeholders to secure rankings and recognition in legal industry directories.
- 5Build and execute thought leadership programs, including webinars, blogs, and speaking engagements, to elevate the practice's profile.
- 6Manage firm-sponsored events and sponsorships, from strategy to execution, ensuring return on investment for client development.
- 7Oversee a marketing team, providing day-to-day supervision, mentoring, and professional development to ensure high performance.
- 8Champion firm technology adoption, including CRM and experience management databases, to accelerate business development efforts.
- 9Monitor client and industry trends to identify cross-selling opportunities and institutional growth paths within the practice.
Requirements8
- 17+ years of marketing experience, with 2+ years in a management role, in a law firm or professional services environment.
- 2Bachelor's degree required; advanced degree preferred, with a focus on marketing, business, or a related field.
- 3Proven ability to lead strategic marketing plans and execute multi-channel campaigns that drive revenue.
- 4Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with experience facilitating solutions and building consensus among partners.
- 5Demonstrated supervisory experience, including hiring, performance management, and mentoring.
- 6Expertise in Microsoft Office suite, including PowerPoint and Excel, plus familiarity with iManage or similar document management systems.
- 7Ability to travel as needed and work extended hours during peak periods.
- 8Experience with CRM systems and sales database programs is preferred, as is knowledge of the New York legal market.
