What You'll Do11
- 1Lead design analysis and development of primary and secondary launch vehicle structures and stage interfaces
- 2Perform structural and thermal analysis to ensure mechanical integrity under operational loads
- 3Develop test programs and apply findings to optimize designs
- 4Prepare CAD models for finite element analysis and manufacturing
- 5Generate technical documentation including reports and specifications for PDRs and CDRs
- 6Collaborate across mechanical aerospace and controls teams to deliver flight-ready systems
- 7Mentor junior and senior engineers to enhance technical expertise
- 8Participate in mission operations and anomaly investigations
- 9Drive system-level design trades and maintain quality standards
- 10Utilize ANSYS tools for mechanical and vibration analysis
- 11Apply knowledge of cryogenic and liquid rocket systems to improve hardware performance
Requirements11
- 1Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering Aerospace Engineering or related field
- 24+ years industry experience in aerospace design and analysis
- 3Proficiency in SolidWorks and NX CAD tools
- 4Strong systems engineering principles and integration experience
- 5Expertise in Ansys Mechanical Explicit Dynamics LS-Dyna and eigenvalue buckling harmonic response
- 6Hands-on hardware development and qualification experience
- 7Excellent analytical problem solving and attention to detail
- 8Strong written and verbal communication abilities
- 9Master’s degree preferred in relevant discipline
- 10Prior experience with liquid rocket systems and launch vehicle hardware
- 11Familiarity with aerospace safety reliability practices
