Senior Java Developer, Stock Loan & Securities Lending
Overview
You own the design and delivery of high-throughput Java microservices for the firm's securities lending platform, handling daily trade flows across US and global markets. You join a cross-functional team of engineers, quants, and operations specialists, reporting to the lead architect. You build on Java, Spring Boot, and Hazelcast to power real-time borrow and loan workflows. This role links directly to post-trade processing, impacting settlement and collateral management. You work on a hybrid schedule from New York, collaborating on-site two to three days per week.
What You'll Do6
- 1Design and implement Java microservices for stock loan order management, integrating with EquiLend, Loanet, Global One, and DTCC.
- 2Build REST APIs and GraphQL endpoints to serve internal and external clients, handling high request volumes.
- 3Develop MQ-based integrations using Kafka or RabbitMQ for real-time trade events.
- 4Optimize distributed caching with Hazelcast to reduce latency for borrow and loan lookups.
- 5Implement borrow and loan workflows covering recalls, returns, rerates, collateral, and settlement.
- 6Drive code reviews and testing to maintain high software quality across the trading platform.
Requirements6
- 15+ years of commercial development experience with Java and Spring Boot.
- 23+ years building microservices and distributed systems, using REST and GraphQL.
- 3Hands-on MQ integration experience, including Kafka or RabbitMQ.
- 4Production experience with Hazelcast or similar distributed cache.
- 5Familiarity with EquiLend, Loanet, Global One, or DTCC systems.
- 6Understanding of securities lending workflows: borrow, loan, recall, return, rerates, and collateral.
