Senior Java Backend Developer, Wealth Management
Overview
Own design and delivery of high-throughput Java backend systems for a Wealth Management platform, handling critical asset movement and real-time transactions. You join Move Money Engineering within Wealth Management Digital Platforms, collaborating with cross-functional teams to modernize payment rails. Integrate AI/ML components into transaction flows and optimize performance at scale. This contract role in Austin, TX or Westlake, TX requires 3 days onsite per week.
What You'll Do8
- 1Design and build fault-tolerant Java backend services for real-time transaction processing, ensuring data integrity and low latency.
- 2Integrate AI/ML models into transaction validation and fraud detection pipelines, using Spring Boot and Kafka.
- 3Optimize performance of critical financial APIs, reducing response times through Java concurrency and caching strategies.
- 4Collaborate with product and frontend teams to define APIs for wealth management features, using REST and gRPC.
- 5Implement monitoring and alerting for production systems using Prometheus and Grafana.
- 6Lead code reviews and mentor junior engineers on best practices for Java development and microservices architecture.
- 7Drive migration from monolithic to microservices architecture, using Docker and Kubernetes.
- 8Ensure compliance with financial regulations through secure coding and data protection standards.
Requirements8
- 16+ years building enterprise Java backend systems with Spring Boot and Hibernate.
- 23+ years designing and supporting high-throughput transaction processing systems.
- 3Experience integrating AI/ML models into production Java applications, using TensorFlow or PyTorch.
- 4Strong understanding of distributed systems, messaging queues (Kafka, RabbitMQ), and caching (Redis).
- 5Proficiency with SQL and NoSQL databases (e.g., PostgreSQL, MongoDB).
- 6Hands-on experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure) and containerization (Docker, Kubernetes).
- 7Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field, or equivalent work experience.
- 8Local candidates only, able to work hybrid 3 days a week in Austin, TX or Westlake, TX.
