Overview

You will own the design, deployment, and management of Cisco security infrastructure at the Houston Forensic Science Center. Your work secures Cisco Firepower systems across physical, virtual, and cloud environments. You will collaborate with a small IT team to support all systems and troubleshoot issues. What You'll Do7

  • 1Design and deploy Cisco Firepower Threat Defense (FTD) and Firepower Management Center (FMC) solutions across the enterprise.
  • 2Configure and tune Cisco security features including IPS, malware protection, URL filtering, DNS security, and SSL/TLS decryption policies.
  • 3Integrate Cisco firewalls in Microsoft Azure and support centralized policy management for hybrid networks.
  • 4Maintain client-facing security architectures and integrate Cisco platforms with SIEM tools and automation.
  • 5Respond to help desk tickets and resolve technical hardware, software, and internet issues for end users.
  • 6Optimize network performance and reliability across on-premises, campus, and data center environments.
  • 7Develop and document network security policies and procedures for compliance and operational efficiency.

Requirements10

  • 1BA/BS in a technical field or equivalent work experience.
  • 2CCNP Security or CCIE Security certification preferred.
  • 35+ years designing, deploying, and managing Cisco FTD and FMC in enterprise environments.
  • 43+ years with 802.1X NAC, guest lifecycle, profiling, TrustSec segmentation, and Cisco security features.
  • 5Experience with Cisco cloud firewall deployments in Microsoft Azure.
  • 6Proven troubleshooting skills for network, hardware, and software issues.
  • 7Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • 8Ability to work effectively in a team and with all levels of staff.
  • 9Demonstrated project management and critical thinking skills.
  • 10Additional certifications like CISSP, GSEC, or GCED are a plus.
