Senior Integrations Engineer, Python & Kafka Backend Systems
Overview
Own the backend architecture for a risk management platform serving cold-chain logistics at scale. You will design and ship distributed services that ingest IoT data, reason about shipment risk in real time, and enable OTIF optimization for pharma and perishables. You’ll join a lean, fast-moving team of ~27 engineers and influence product and architecture decisions. This role emphasizes reliability, observability, and high uptime in a mission-critical domain.
What You'll Do7
- 1Build backend services powering the logistics orchestration and decision intelligence platform
- 2Own data heavy distributed systems contextualizing IoT monitoring data for real time risk quantification
- 3Build predictive systems for OTIF performance and automate exception workflows
- 4Architect and maintain event driven pipelines for high volume IoT data ingestion and processing
- 5Partner with leadership and cross functional teams to influence product and architecture decisions
- 6Champion software engineering practices: testing, CI/CD, monitoring, and observability
- 7Scale systems for reliability where uptime and accuracy matter
Requirements10
- 15-15 years of backend engineering experience building scalable distributed systems
- 2Proficiency in Python Java Go or Rust with strong preference for Java or Python
- 3Experience designing operating data heavy distributed systems
- 4Experience with IoT data ingestion processing contextualization
- 5Proficiency with relational databases SQL; NoSQL and ETL pipelines a plus
- 6Experience with event-driven architectures and messaging systems Kafka RabbitMQ or similar
- 7Hands-on experience with Docker and Kubernetes
- 8Experience deploying and operating services on AWS GCP or Azure
- 9Experience with API design REST and/or gRPC
- 10Strong software engineering practices including testing CI/CD monitoring observability
