Senior Software Engineer, Risk & Fraud Detection
Overview
Senior Software Engineer owning the architecture of backend services and APIs for the Risk Team, supporting fraud detection, risk scoring, and compliance automation at Midasis Technologies LLC. You will build scalable, secure, and resilient systems that handle transaction monitoring and compliance workflows in a high-stakes environment. Collaborating closely with InfoSec, Data Science, and Product teams, you will drive technical direction and ensure system integrity. This onsite role in Los Angeles offers the chance to shape mission-critical systems from day one.
What You'll Do8
- 1Architect and develop backend services with Python, Java, or Go to support fraud detection and transaction monitoring.
- 2Design and implement RESTful APIs for risk scoring, compliance automation, and real-time data processing.
- 3Build and maintain data pipelines using Kafka and Spark to process high-volume streaming data.
- 4Collaborate with InfoSec and Data Science teams to integrate machine learning models into risk decisioning.
- 5Lead code reviews and mentor junior engineers on secure coding practices and system design.
- 6Drive the adoption of Kubernetes and Docker for containerized microservices deployment.
- 7Implement monitoring and alerting with Prometheus and Grafana to ensure system reliability.
- 8Scale system infrastructure to handle millions of transactions per day with minimal latency.
Requirements8
- 15+ years building backend systems with Python, Java, or Go.
- 2Experience designing and deploying RESTful APIs in production environments.
- 3Strong knowledge of SQL and NoSQL databases, including PostgreSQL and MongoDB.
- 42+ years working with Kafka or similar event streaming platforms.
- 5Hands-on experience with Kubernetes and Docker for containerized applications.
- 6Familiarity with cloud platforms such as AWS or GCP.
- 7Proficiency with CI/CD pipelines and infrastructure as code, such as Terraform.
- 8Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work in a fast-paced, collaborative team environment.
