Senior Field Applications Specialist - Los Angeles CA
Overview
The Sr. Field Applications Specialist leads validation of Chemistry and Immunoassay instruments to meet Beckman Coulter and client needs. You will prepare customers for validation studies, provide technical support, and train staff on proper instrument use. This role drives operational excellence through collaboration with internal teams and delivers impactful solutions for life sciences and diagnostics.
What You'll Do11
- 1Design and execute validation protocols for new instrument installations ensuring compliance with specifications and regulatory standards
- 2Conduct onsite and remote troubleshooting for assay and quality control issues with precision-focused methodologies
- 3Deliver hands-on training sessions for customers on instrument setup calibration and method optimization
- 4Collaborate with Tech Support Field Service and Customer Training teams to resolve complex technical challenges
- 5Prepare detailed documentation for validation studies including setup procedures precision studies and method comparisons
- 6Maintain equipment inventory and coordinate logistics for field deployments across multiple locations
- 7Drive continuous improvement initiatives by analyzing performance data and implementing workflow enhancements
- 8Support senior engineers in debugging production issues and conducting root cause analyses
- 9Ensure adherence to CAP CLIA COLA regulations throughout the validation and deployment process
- 10Travel approximately 95% of time between Los Angeles and San Diego locations with occasional international assignments
- 11Mentor junior technicians and share best practices across the Field Applications Team
Requirements9
- 1Associates degree with minimum 3+ years laboratory instrumentation experience
- 2Advanced knowledge of diagnostics industry regulatory frameworks including Laboratory Standards
- 3Proven ability to lead validation projects with measurable impact on customer satisfaction
- 4Valid driver’s license with clean record and physical capability to lift 50 lbs
- 5Strong communication skills for cross-functional collaboration and customer education
- 6Bachelor’s degree in Medical Laboratory Science preferred
- 7Experience with QC processes and regulatory compliance documentation
- 8Familiarity with Danaher business system principles and continuous improvement methodologies
- 9Previous field service experience in healthcare diagnostic environments beneficial
