Senior Director for National Security, AI Datacenter
Overview
Own federal and intelligence community partnerships for the first AI datacenter built to Security Level 5, the frontier defense standard for nation-state threats. You'll grow a network of trusted relationships in DC, shape custom whitepapers, and run workshops connecting Bay Area engineers with USG specialists. You'll advise on strategy and accompany the CEO on technical briefings. This role demands deep USG process knowledge and a nonpartisan stance, with an active TS clearance as a bonus. The mission is urgent and the scale is unprecedented: tripling headcount and shipping an at-scale build by 2027.
What You'll Do8
- 1Grow and manage partnerships with USG agencies and the NatSec community, including WH, House, and Senate committees.
- 2Craft custom whitepapers for USG partners and consult on their security needs.
- 3Travel to DC regularly to meet partners in person and build earned trust.
- 4Design and run custom conferences and workshops to educate USG specialists on SL5 standards.
- 5Advise the SL5 team on overall strategy and communications, ensuring alignment with USG expectations.
- 6Support the CEO during technical briefing trips to DC.
- 7Facilitate a two-way connection between Bay Area and DC security experts.
- 8Stay informed on Datacenter Security and AI/ML basics to translate between technical and policy audiences.
Requirements8
- 15+ years building and maintaining high-level relationships in DC national security circles.
- 2Deep understanding of USG processes, staffing, and structure, including Government Procurement.
- 3Excellent written and verbal policy and technical communication skills.
- 4Bipartisan and neutral affiliation, able to work across political lines.
- 5Proven track record of earning trust with NatSec community leaders and policymakers.
- 6Interest or prior knowledge in Datacenter Security and AI/ML fundamentals.
- 7Willingness to travel to DC regularly or relocate there.
- 8Active TS clearance or higher is a plus.
