What You'll Do11

  • 1Identify and shape growth opportunities across ESPN’s portfolio focusing on innovation and emerging market dynamics
  • 2Own and frame strategic M&A and investment analyses including financial modeling valuation and deal strategy
  • 3Develop a strong point of view on the sports media ecosystem including trends in sports rights licensing and monetization
  • 4Lead complex cross-functional initiatives bringing together partners across ESPN Disney Entertainment and Corporate functions
  • 5Translate complex analyses into clear narratives through executive presentations board materials and investor-facing content
  • 6Drive long-range planning processes including segment strategy development and executive alignment on priorities
  • 7Assess partnerships and new business opportunities in content technology and adjacent growth areas
  • 8Collaborate with Corporate Development and Research to align on market insights valuation frameworks and strategic recommendations
  • 9Lead and mentor a team of 2–3 high-performing professionals fostering a culture of rigor curiosity and impact
  • 10Operate as a trusted advisor to senior leadership providing structure and strategic perspective to high-stakes decisions
  • 11Develop and execute strategies that differentiate this role within the organization

Requirements11

  • 1Minimum 10 years of experience in strategy investment banking private equity or top-tier management consulting with exposure to media sports or technology
  • 2Strong understanding of sports rights licensing and media economics connecting industry dynamics to business strategy
  • 3Proven ability to lead strategic M&A modeling and investment analysis including building complex financial models and delivering actionable insights
  • 4Exceptional communication and storytelling skills articulating strategy and influencing executive audiences
  • 5Experience leading cross-functional teams and managing multiple high-priority workstreams simultaneously
  • 6Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities with both quantitative rigor and qualitative judgment
  • 7Executive presence operating effectively in a highly visible fast-paced environment
  • 8Experience within large matrixed organizations building relationships and driving alignment across stakeholders
  • 9Demonstrated ability to develop and lead high-performing teams
  • 10Bachelor’s degree from ESPNMedia
