What You'll Do8
- 1Serve as lead counsel on felony and federal cases, managing all phases from arraignment to trial.
- 2Dominate motion practice by drafting and arguing suppression motions, dismissals, and other key filings.
- 3Attack prosecution evidence through rigorous analysis, identifying weaknesses and building defense narratives.
- 4Run jury selection, opening statements, witness examinations, and closing arguments with precision.
- 5Negotiate favorable resolutions when strategic, leveraging your trial readiness for leverage.
- 6Own client communication, translating legal strategy into clear guidance while managing expectations.
- 7Collaborate with paralegals and support staff to keep cases trial-ready and deadlines met.
- 8Mentor junior attorneys and contribute to a high-performance, accountability-driven culture.
Requirements8
- 15+ years of criminal defense experience with increasing responsibility and trial exposure.
- 250+ trials as lead or co-counsel, with a track record of effective courtroom advocacy.
- 3Active Florida Bar license in good standing and ability to meet billable hour targets.
- 4Experience handling felony cases, from pre-trial strategy through verdict or plea.
- 5Preferred: former prosecutor experience or federal criminal case experience.
- 6Preferred: experience with post-conviction motions and appeals.
- 7Strong legal research and writing abilities, with a knack for persuasive briefs.
- 8Sharp strategic thinking and calm, decisive judgment under pressure.
