Overview

As a Senior CNC Machinist, you will own the setup and operation of multi-axis CNC mills and lathes, producing tight-tolerance components for a Houston-based manufacturer. You will work with GD&T blueprints, edit programs at the control, and hold tolerances to microns. What You'll Do7

  • 1Set up and operate multi-axis CNC mills and lathes to machine complex, tight-tolerance components.
  • 2Interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and GD&T to determine machining sequences, tooling, speeds, and feeds.
  • 3Perform tool changes, offsets, and program edits at the control to achieve and hold tolerances within microns.
  • 4Conduct first-article and in-process inspection using calipers, micrometers, gauges, and CMM data.
  • 5Select, set, and maintain cutting tools, fixtures, and workholding; optimize setups to cut cycle times.
  • 6Partner with programming and engineering to improve methods, yields, and throughput on new and existing jobs.
  • 7Maintain a clean, safe, organized work area and follow all quality and safety procedures.

Requirements9

  • 18+ years of hands-on CNC machining experience in a precision manufacturing environment.
  • 2Proven ability to set up and run multi-axis CNC mills and lathes independently.
  • 3Strong blueprint reading and GD&T interpretation skills.
  • 4Proficiency with precision measuring instruments and in-process inspection.
  • 5Experience with Fanuc, Haas, Mazak, or Okuma controls.
  • 6High school diploma or GED; machining certificate or completed apprenticeship a plus.
  • 75-axis machining experience and experience with exotic materials such as titanium, Inconel, and stainless steel.
  • 8Experience in an AS9100 environment, including first-article inspection (AS9102).
  • 9Familiarity with lean manufacturing principles.
