Senior Autonomy Engineer, AI & Robotics
Overview
Own the autonomy stack for multi-vehicle orchestration across aerial, maritime, and ground platforms. You will design mission planning, path generation, and behavior execution at scale, ensuring reliable performance in contested environments. Work at the intersection of AI reasoning frameworks, event driven autonomy stacks, and distributed multi agent systems to translate mission intent into real world action. This role blends robotics, practical systems thinking, and a passion for delivering robust autonomy with safety as a core requirement.
What You'll Do10
- 1Build autonomy modules including path planning, task allocation, behavior trees, and reactive execution models to enable adaptive multi vehicle operations
- 2Design and maintain the autonomy framework that integrates AI driving mission planning with world modeling
- 3Ship AI generated plans that are executable, explainable, and safe across UAVs USVs and UUVs
- 4Implement and validate navigation control and autonomy behaviors using event driven middleware and simulation environments
- 5Profile and optimize autonomy performance for edge compute hardware such as Jetson and Raspberry Pi
- 6Conduct simulation in loop and hardware in loop testing to validate autonomy before live deployment
- 7Contribute to safety reliability and compliance practices for defense relevant autonomy missions
- 8Collaborate with AI networking and systems engineering teams to ensure seamless orchestration of multi vehicle operations
- 9Ensure robust autonomy across heterogeneous fleets through testing and iteration
- 10Mentor engineers and contribute to cross domain autonomy integration initiatives
Requirements7
- 16+ years experience developing autonomy or robotics systems
- 2Proficiency in C++ and Python for real time autonomy development
- 3Strong hands on experience with event driven pub sub middleware Zenoh MQTT DDS or similar
- 4Background in motion planning navigation and control systems
- 5Experience with state estimation sensor fusion and autonomy validation
- 6Familiarity with behavior trees task allocation or symbolic planners
- 7Knowledge of simulation environments Gazebo Isaac Sim AirSim or equivalent
