Overview
Near Earth Autonomy's Integration Engineer integrates autonomy software onto platforms from small quadcopters to full-scale helicopters. You'll own software-in-the-loop, hardware-in-the-loop, and field testing cycles, ensuring robust performance across scales. You'll join a cross-functional team of robotics engineers passionate about state-of-the-art autonomous flight. What You'll Do7
- 1Integrate autonomy software into robotics platforms ranging from small quadcopters to full-scale helicopters.
- 2Design and maintain utility and core software modules within the autonomy architecture, based on experience.
- 3Conduct software-in-the-loop, hardware-in-the-loop, and field testing to validate system performance.
- 4Debug integration issues across the stack, from C++ core to ROS2 communication layers.
- 5Collaborate with algorithm and platform teams to refine system design and test plans.
- 6Drive continuous improvement of integration tooling and testing workflows.
- 7Own the integration test schedule, balancing development tempo with safety and reliability.
Requirements10
- 1Bachelor's degree in Robotics, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or equivalent.
- 23+ years experience integrating and field testing robotic systems.
- 3Strong C++ design and programming skills.
- 4Proficiency with Python or similar scripting languages.
- 5Hands-on experience with ROS2 in a robotics environment.
- 6Solid understanding of software engineering practices and the software development life cycle.
- 7Comfortable working in a Linux development environment.
- 8Willingness to travel and spend time in the field for testing.
- 9Must be a US citizen or Permanent Resident due to federal contract requirements.
- 10Preferred: Master's or PhD in Robotics, Computer Science, or equivalent; industry experience in robotics or autonomous flight; experience designing modular, testable, extensible C++ APIs.
