Senior Accounting Analyst at Duke Energy
Overview
We seek a skilled professional to lead accounting operations for our Plant Accounting and Reporting group. The ideal candidate will own financial reporting processes for fixed assets and nuclear fuel accounting while collaborating with cross‑functional teams. This role drives data integrity and supports strategic decision‑making across multiple regulatory domains.
What You'll Do9
- 1Prepare monthly journal entries and reconcile accounts for property balance sheet and income statement items
- 2Develop AFUDC rates and conduct detailed AFUDC analyses for management review
- 3Produce cash flow workpapers and supporting schedules required for SEC financial statements
- 4Assist with FERC filings and prepare internal/external financial reports
- 5Research and implement GAAP updates and regulatory changes such as Rate Cases
- 6Support audit activities by providing information and answering technical queries
- 7Maintain internal controls through accurate transaction processing and documentation
- 8Collaborate with auditors to deliver comprehensive accounting support
- 9Analyze complex property issues and present findings to senior leadership
Requirements10
- 15+ years building ETL pipelines with Spark and Airflow
- 23-5 seasons leading accounting projects in utility environments
- 3Bachelor’s degree in Accounting Finance Economics or related field
- 4Proficiency with Microsoft Excel Word PowerPoint
- 5CPA licensed or CPA candidate status
- 6Experience with PeopleSoft FMIS Power Plan Hyperion financial management
- 7Strong problem solving and analytical abilities
- 8Ability to work in a team environment and build stakeholder relationships
- 9Hybrid work arrangement available with commuting requirement
- 10Valid work authorization in the United States
