Senior Accountant, Japanese Bilingual in NYC & SAP ERP
Overview
Own and manage day-to-day corporate accounting at scale within a hybrid NYC team. Lead month-end and year-end closings, reconcile G/L, and oversee A/P and A/R processes. Partner with Japan headquarters on management reporting and audits. This role combines precision, compliance, and collaboration to strengthen internal controls.
What You'll Do10
- 1Build and own month-end close processes including reconciliations of G/L and balance sheet accounts
- 2Design and implement improvements to accounting workflows to strengthen internal controls
- 3Manage Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable cycles and ensure timely payments and collections
- 4Oversee payroll and benefits accounting aligned with local regulations
- 5Prepare management reports for Japan headquarters and support internal and external audits
- 6Drive cash flow management and treasury activities to optimize liquidity
- 7Collaborate cross-functionally with finance, tax, and operations to ensure accurate financial reporting
- 8Mentor junior staff and ensure accurate financial data through diligent review and documentation
- 9Scale accounting processes for evolving business needs
- 10Support tax compliance and statutory reporting requirements
Requirements10
- 1Associate Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
- 23–5 years of progressive accounting experience
- 3Hands-on experience with SAP or other ERP systems
- 4Advanced Microsoft Excel skills
- 5Business-level English communication
- 6Business-level Japanese communication
- 7CPA certification preferred
- 8Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- 9Excellent attention to detail and financial accuracy
- 10Thorough understanding of internal controls and compliance
