Senior Accountant, Hybrid & GAAP Accounting
Overview
The Senior Accountant will own monthly close, balance sheet reconciliations, and financial analysis for a growing, diverse team at Rewards Network in Chicago. You will collaborate with cross functional partners to ensure accuracy, compliance, and timely reporting while mentoring junior staff. This hybrid role requires in office presence three days a week in Chicago.
What You'll Do10
- 1Build monthly and fiscal year end close processes with accurate journal entries and reconciliations
- 2Own balance sheet reconciliations and bank statement reconciliations ensuring accuracy
- 3Prepare and analyze financial statements and general ledgers to ensure GAAP compliance
- 4Support budgets and forecasts for future expenditures and resource planning
- 5Assist with external audits by providing ledger analysis and audit documentation
- 6Manage accounts payable workflow including proper coding and timely invoice processing
- 7Identify opportunities to streamline finance operations through technology and process improvements
- 8Collaborate with stakeholders to improve financial reporting and internal controls
- 9Mentor junior accounting staff and drive process improvements across the team
- 10Partner with external partners and auditors to support financial compliance and accuracy
Requirements8
- 1Bachelor's degree in accounting
- 2At least 3 years of accounting experience
- 3Strong technical accounting skills with advanced MS Excel
- 4Detail oriented with a focus on accuracy
- 5Proficient in word processing and spreadsheet software
- 6Ability to manage a high volume of tasks and meet strict deadlines
- 7Strong verbal and written communication for internal and external interactions
- 8Solid knowledge of GAAP, standards, and regulation
