Overview
Own the full accounts receivable cycle and balance sheet reconciliations for an RIA managing $8 billion in assets. Under the direction of the Director of Finance, you will ensure accurate financial reporting and support the annual budget and audit. Collaborate with a 30-person Chicago team serving over 600 plan sponsors. This hybrid role stands out for its direct impact on the financial integrity of a growing firm.
What You'll Do7
- 1Calculate, create, reconcile, and verify company accounts receivable transactions to maintain accurate accounting records.
- 2Reconcile assigned balance sheet accounts and resolve any discrepancies.
- 3Assist in preparing the annual budget and analyze quarterly variances against actual results.
- 4Contribute to year-end reporting and the annual audit.
- 5Ensure compliance with accounting standards and internal controls; maintain documentation of procedures.
- 6Handle sensitive and confidential information with integrity and discretion.
- 7Perform additional duties and special projects as assigned.
Requirements10
- 1Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field.
- 23-7 years professional accounting experience.
- 3Demonstrated knowledge of GAAP and standard accounting practices.
- 4Experience with general ledger functions, account reconciliations, and month-end/year-end close processes.
- 5Expert-level proficiency in QuickBooks.
- 6Intermediate to advanced Microsoft Excel skills (e.g., pivot tables, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, SUMIFS, data analysis).
- 7Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
- 8Ability to identify discrepancies and recommend corrective actions.
- 9Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- 10Ability to work independently and handle multiple priorities with minimal supervision.
