Overview
Senior Accountant position focused on owning the general ledger and month end close. You will ensure accurate financial records, timely close cycles, and data integrity that informs strategic decision making. This fully remote role centers on GAAP compliance, strong reporting, and process improvements with a startup mindset.
What You'll Do8
- 1Own the end to end month end close, including journal entries, accruals, and adjustments
- 2Reconcile the general ledger and investigate discrepancies to maintain accuracy
- 3Prepare GAAP compliant monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements
- 4Perform balance sheet reconciliations with proper substantiation and documentation
- 5Support external audits with organized schedules and reconciliations
- 6Identify and implement improvements to shorten close time and boost precision
- 7Partner with leadership to keep financial data ready for audits and decisions
- 8Strengthen internal controls around close and reporting processes
Requirements7
- 1Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance with CPA or CA preferred
- 23-5 years of hands on experience in GL and month end close
- 3Proficiency with ERP/accounting systems and strong spreadsheet skills with Google Sheets and Excel
- 4Solid knowledge of GAAP, reconciliations, and financial statement prep
- 5Detail oriented with ability to meet tight close deadlines without sacrificing accuracy
- 6Excellent written and verbal communication in English
- 7Comfort working remotely in a fast paced startup environment
