SAR Scientist, Radar Processing & Data Quality
Overview
You will own SAR data processing and algorithm development for a constellation of radar satellites, delivering mission-critical intelligence to US defense and emergency response teams. 5+ years of engineering experience and a deep understanding of SAR imaging physics are essential. You'll join a small team of scientists and engineers who value rigorous physics and production-grade software. What You'll Do8
- 1Design and build software for SAR data processing, quality control, and analytic products, targeting operational readiness within 90 days.
- 2Collaborate with engineering teams to move code into scalable pipelines using Docker and AWS.
- 3Maintain expertise in ICEYE's product suite and data workflows, including SICD and CPHD formats.
- 4Root cause and resolve product or customer issues across teams.
- 5Write technical responses for RFIs and RFPs, and brief stakeholders on technical topics.
- 6Contribute to algorithm and system design decisions in agile sprints.
- 7Adhere to engineering best practices with code review, testing, and documentation.
- 8Independently learn new software and technologies as needed.
Requirements10
- 15+ years in RF, systems, or electrical engineering roles.
- 22+ years developing SAR processing algorithms in an engineering environment.
- 3Mastery of complex-valued SAR imagery and phase history data.
- 4Proficiency prototyping with Python.
- 5Experience with Linux command line and Git.
- 6US citizenship with TS/SCI clearance or willingness to obtain one.
- 7Advanced degree in Electrical Engineering, Physics, or related field.
- 82+ years developing SAR data processing software in production (preferred).
- 9Familiarity with Go or C++ (preferred).
- 10Experience with Docker, AWS, and GIS tools (preferred).
