Overview
As a Salesperson at Advance Auto Parts, you own the DIY customer experience from first hello to part install. You will hit personal and store sales goals while delivering battery tests, wiper installs, and parts lookups. You join a retail team of 10-15, reporting to the store manager, with daily cross-training in inventory systems and POS workflows. You will master automotive systems and store operations, setting you up for advancement into specialist or leadership roles.
What You'll Do9
- 1Greet every DIY customer, assess their needs, and close sales with confidence
- 2Hit personal sales targets and contribute to the store's overall revenue goals
- 3Install car batteries, test electrical systems, and mount wiper blades
- 4Maintain inventory integrity using POS and Parts Lookup systems
- 5Process truck deliveries, cycle counts, and back stock organization
- 6Keep the store clean, from floors to parking lot, and stocked for ready access
- 7Deliver parts to customers safely using the delivery board system
- 8Handle phone calls, answering product questions and taking orders
- 9Use diagnostic tools to test parts and ensure the right fit
Requirements9
- 12-3 years of retail sales experience, ideally in automotive or parts
- 2Basic automotive knowledge, including parts and systems
- 3Ability to read parts catalogs and procedure manuals
- 4Comfort with POS and Parts Lookup systems
- 5Valid driver's license and safe driving record for deliveries
- 6Friendly, clear communication in English; Spanish is a plus
- 7Stand for long shifts and lift up to 50 pounds regularly
- 8Available to work days, evenings, and weekends
- 9Fleet safety certification preferred
