
Salesforce Solutions Architect, Nonprofit Event Management
Overview
Own the Salesforce architecture for a non-profit that orchestrates the Boston Marathon and 30+ annual events. You'll design and govern multi-org solutions supporting 200K+ runners, 10K volunteers, and $50M in fundraising. Collaborate with event ops, fundraising, and IT teams to scale Salesforce into a single source of truth. This role shapes how the B.A.A. engages its global running community through Marketing Cloud, Experience Cloud, and MuleSoft integrations.
What You'll Do9
- 1Design and implement Salesforce solutions for event management, donor CRM, and volunteer coordination, delivering a unified platform in the first 90 days.
- 2Lead discovery sessions with race directors and fundraising teams to translate operational needs into scalable Salesforce configurations and Apex code.
- 3Architect Salesforce integrations with Eventbrite, Strava, and Classy using MuleSoft, ensuring real-time data sync for 200K+ participants.
- 4Build and maintain Salesforce Lightning apps and Experience Cloud portals for runners and volunteers, reducing support tickets by 30%.
- 5Drive adoption of Marketing Cloud journeys for race registration and fundraising campaigns, targeting 80% email engagement.
- 6Own the Salesforce release cycle, using Gearset for CI/CD and managing sandbox refreshes, ensuring zero downtime during peak registration.
- 7Establish data governance and security model across Salesforce orgs, implementing Sharing Rules and Field-Level Security for 500+ internal users.
- 8Mentor junior admins and developers, conducting code reviews and enforcing Salesforce best practices.
- 9Create technical documentation and training materials to empower the B.A.A. team to self-serve reporting and dashboard needs.
Requirements8
- 15+ years as a Salesforce Solutions Architect or Technical Lead, with Salesforce Certified Architect credentials (Application Architect or System Architect).
- 23+ years hands-on Salesforce development using Apex, Visualforce, and Lightning Web Components.
- 32+ years integrating Salesforce with external systems using REST APIs, MuleSoft, or Boomi, preferably in non-profit or event settings.
- 4Strong understanding of Salesforce data model, including NPSP (Nonprofit Success Pack) and Marketing Cloud.
- 5Proven experience architecting solutions for high-volume events or membership organizations with 100K+ records.
- 6Excellent stakeholder management and ability to translate business requirements into technical designs.
- 7Salesforce Certified in Platform Developer I and Platform Developer II.
- 8Experience with Agile development and DevOps practices, including Gearset or Copado.
