Sales Estimator, PBS & Construction Estimating in Doors Frames Hardware
Overview
Own and scale the estimation process for PBS divisions covering doors frames hardware, access control and related products at a regional scale. Collaborate with in house teams, customers and vendors to takeoffs, quote packages, and drive revenue and gross profit. Be part of a cross functional team focused on customer relationships and value engineering opportunities. This role is rooted in Wood Dale and requires field aware, problem solving with a customer first mindset.
What You'll Do10
- 1Build and review architectural drawings and specifications to guide accurate takeoffs Microsoft Word Excel PDF
- 2Design proposals and provide value engineering opportunities to customers to win bids
- 3Lead takeoffs using a methodical process with attention to life safety, accessibility and building codes
- 4Ship proposals to customers via phone, email, or jobsite visits and ensure bid dates are met
- 5Own communication with vendors and purchasing agents to secure cost effective pricing
- 6Scale bid management by meeting schedules, negotiating terms, and closing bid projects
- 7Drive post bid follow up, negotiation, and award to support long term growth relationships
- 8Debug project details with customers to resolve clarifications and change orders
- 9Collaborate on document management and ensure drawings and specifications are up to date
- 10Provide rough openings and other field related measurements as needed
Requirements9
- 15+ years of construction industry experience
- 2Extensive knowledge of doors frames and hardware DHI Certifications (AHC CDC EHC AOC) desired
- 3Experience in project estimating with familiarity of construction drawings & specifications Access Control knowledge preferred
- 4Self-motivated, detail oriented with ability to multi task and solve problems
- 5Proficient communication skills with timely follow up and strong customer service mindset
- 6Experience using Microsoft Word Excel and PDF editors
- 7Ability to work onsite in Wood Dale Illinois and collaborate with vendors and customers
- 8Strong integrity, professionalism and teamwork values
- 9Knowledge of building codes life safety and accessibility principles
