Safety Manager, Commercial Construction & OSHA Compliance
Overview
OSHA compliance and safety leadership for a large commercial construction project in Houston. Own site safety programs, incident investigations, and regulatory reporting for multi-trade crews on site. Lead proactive safety culture and partner with project management to integrate safety into daily operations. What You'll Do10
- 1Build, and manage site safety plans aligned with OSHA and local regulations to reduce incidents
- 2Lead daily inspections and hazard assessments to identify unsafe conditions and implement corrective actions
- 3Shine a safety-facing role by conducting orientations for employees, subcontractors, and visitors
- 4Coordinate and document toolbox talks, safety meetings, and training programs
- 5Investigate accidents, incidents, and near misses; prepare detailed reports and corrective action plans
- 6Maintain OSHA logs (300/300A/301) and all required safety documentation
- 7Serve as primary safety liaison with clients, inspectors, and regulatory agencies
- 8Review subcontractor safety programs, JHAs, and safety documentation prior to work starting
- 9Monitor PPE compliance and jobsite safety practices across the site
- 10Support emergency response planning and drills and stop work if conditions are unsafe
Requirements10
- 1Minimum 5–10 years of safety experience in commercial construction
- 2Strong knowledge of OSHA standards, particularly construction (29 CFR 1926)
- 3Experience managing safety programs on large, multi-trade construction sites
- 4Ability to communicate effectively with field personnel, subcontractors, and management
- 5Strong documentation, reporting, and organizational skills
- 6OSHA 30 (Required)
- 7CHST, CSP, ASP, or equivalent safety certification (Preferred)
- 8First Aid / CPR / AED (Required) or ability to obtain
- 9HAZWOPER (Preferred, if applicable)
- 10Must be authorized to work in the United States without current or future sponsorship
