Safe Ride Programs Coordinator, CTA

Part-time position launching through CTA Innovation Studio to test trauma-informed responses enhancing safety for riders and personnel. Safe Ride Specialists engage riders and individuals in need on CTA rail cars and surrounding locations providing outreach crisis intervention de-escalation referrals and warm hand-offs. Collaborate with CTA administrative resources frontline staff security personnel and third-party organizations. Provide services on Green Line trains between Harlem and Central stations evenings 5pm to 1am. Maintain office hours prepare for outreach complete administrative tasks follow up with partners. Establish rapport reduce harm provide resources food water clothing blankets and determine immediate safety needs. Offer crisis intervention and connect to shelter services. Assist to medical centers when indicated. Contact CTA personnel in emergencies. Distribute informational materials to community stakeholders. Work as part of team with other Safe Ride Specialists. Provide shelter housing coordination warm handoffs to providers accompany riders to medical centers. Partner with Loyola Street Medicine Live4Lali NAMI Thrive Counseling Center. Attend weekly meetings with CTA and other agencies. Build relationships with law enforcement libraries first responders hospitals health providers townships homeless education liaisons faith-based organizations. Attend Street Outreach Coalition meetings. Log activities maintain data in HMIS Salesforce SharePoint. Flexible schedule including evenings weekends driver’s license clean record auto insurance personal vehicle smartphone required. Minimum one year experience in social work family services human services counseling or related field. Equivalent with two years experience in related field. Must be mindful of racial inequities tailor efforts for equity. Problem solving to identify strengths explore safe housing options such as reunification with family.
