RN PRN Maternal Infant Nurse, Ambulatory Care
Overview
You will deliver patient- and family-centered care in Jefferson Health Ambulatory Clinics, addressing physical, psychological, emotional, and social needs of diverse patients. You will collaborate with providers and support staff, applying the nursing process and RN clinical judgment. What You'll Do9
- 1Perform nursing assessments and triage patients in an ambulatory setting, using EMR to document medical histories, symptoms, and vital signs.
- 2Administer medications and immunizations per BLS protocols, ensuring patient safety and adherence to prescribed treatments.
- 3Educate patients and care partners on conditions, medications, and recovery steps, using techniques tailored to health literacy levels.
- 4Collaborate with providers and support staff to coordinate care plans and delegate tasks respectfully per scope of practice.
- 5Maintain confidentiality and integrity, following HIPAA and the ANA Code of Ethics in all interactions.
- 6Precept nursing students and support nursing governance initiatives related to quality and evidence-based practice.
- 7Attend and complete EMR training, staying proficient with updates and tasking functions.
- 8Engage patients in their health care, respecting cultural beliefs and individual priorities.
- 9Participate in quality improvement and research efforts to enhance patient outcomes.
Requirements7
- 1Graduate of an accredited school of nursing required
- 2Current RN license in Pennsylvania required
- 3BLS certification from the American Heart Association required
- 4BSN preferred or completion within 3 years of hire
- 5Experience as a nurse in an ambulatory setting preferred
- 6Knowledge of patient assessment, medication administration, and health information documentation
- 7Effective communication and cultural awareness skills
