Retina Team Lead Position at American Vision Partners
Overview
The Retina Team Lead will lead ophthalmic assistants and technicians while generating preliminary information for physicians. This role involves reviewing patient status and performing medical tests under physician supervision. What You'll Do17
- 1Welcomes patients and visitors with a positive warm disposition
- 2Obtains patient histories through intake assessments documenting findings in EHR
- 3Performs visual acuity auto-refraction manual and automated lensometry Goldmann and Tonopen tonometry and keratometry
- 4Checks pupils extra-ocular muscles confrontation fields and administers eye drops for dilation
- 5Runs diagnostic tests such as Immersion A-scan OCTs and Visual Fields
- 6Educates patients on ophthalmic conditions and consents for procedures and surgery
- 7Monitors E-faxes and Erx's to manage failed attempts timely
- 8Maintains exam rooms ensuring proper cleaning and sterilization
- 9Scribes for providers to improve workflow and reduce clinic delays
- 10Works with Clinic Manager to set goals monitor evaluations and recommend salary increases
- 11Assists with scheduling back office staff and oversees patient flow
- 12Meets regularly with Clinic Manager to discuss operational needs
- 13Trains back office employees on EHR navigation MIPS coding documentation and provider preferences
- 14Conducts quarterly chart audits and reviews findings with staff to develop action plans
- 15Identifies coding documentation concerns and collaborates with Clinic Manager on solutions
- 16Knows provider schedules and can flag potential concerns
- 17Performs additional duties as assigned
Requirements10
- 1High School Diploma or GED required
- 2Certification in Ophthalmic Assistant or Technician with 5+ years experience
- 3COA or COT certification preferred
- 4At least 1 year of ophthalmic assistant or technician experience
- 5Prior supervisory experience preferred
- 6Detail oriented reliable multitasker in fast-paced high volume environment
- 7Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- 8Flexible schedule Monday Friday ability to travel to specific locations
- 9Strong knowledge of provider schedules and ability to identify coding issues
- 10Commitment to teamwork and continuous improvement
