Retail Store Associate & Piercing Studio Sales | Rowan Chicago
Overview
You will own the customer journey in Rowan's Lincoln Park studio, from greeting to aftercare, driving sales and creating a celebratory piercing experience. You'll work alongside the Studio Manager and certified Nurse Piercers to deliver expert advice on hypoallergenic jewelry and aftercare, turning first-time piercees into repeat jewelry customers. This role blends customer service, sales, and studio operations, with weekend, Monday, and Thursday availability required. You'll master the art of ear stacking and become a brand ambassador for Rowan's high standards of safety and style.
What You'll Do9
- 1Greet and welcome customers, creating a celebratory environment, and check them in or help book appointments using POS and scheduling software.
- 2Guide customers in choosing and styling piercings and hypoallergenic non-piercing jewelry, answering questions on procedures, aftercare, and product details.
- 3Promote and upsell Rowan's products, including non-piercing jewelry and aftercare kits, to meet individual sales targets and convert piercing customers into jewelry customers.
- 4Maintain up-to-date knowledge of product offerings, materials, styles, and care instructions, and effectively communicate the value of Rowan's services.
- 5Keep the studio clean, organized, and stocked with supplies, including jewelry, piercing tools, and cleaning products, following all health and safety regulations.
- 6Assist managers with receiving, restocking, pricing, displaying, and maintaining inventory, and perform daily upkeep of visual displays.
- 7Collaborate with the Studio Manager and Nurse Piercers to deliver seamless service, and participate in team meetings and training sessions.
- 8Process transactions accurately, handle sales, returns, and exchanges, and conduct regular stock checks and replenish displays.
- 9Maintain accurate customer records, including consent forms, waiver forms, and aftercare instructions, and support studio-wide goals.
Requirements9
- 11+ years retail or service industry experience preferred.
- 2Availability to work weekends, nights, and holidays, plus flexibility for weekday coverage.
- 3Strong communication skills and basic math skills.
- 4Ability to lift up to 25 pounds, and stand for full 8-hour shifts with bending, reaching, and climbing.
- 5Genuine enthusiasm for jewelry and helping customers select earrings.
- 6Proven track record of delivering exceptional customer service.
- 7Ability to thrive in a busy environment and stay productive during quieter times.
- 8Team player with a flexible, can-do attitude and willingness to lend a helping hand.
