Overview

The Research Program Manager leads DoD funded research initiatives in Boston and Washington DC. This role supports a new project while aligning with the institute's mission nationwide. Candidates must demonstrate strong project management skills and commitment to federal standards.

What You'll Do11

  • 1Provide program and portfolio management for multiple institute complex program portfolios
  • 2Create systems organize manage program milestones deliverables effort and timelines
  • 3Conduct in depth analysis on projects monitor schedules and performance
  • 4Plan and manage schedules monitor programs from initiation to closeout
  • 5Assist with proposals budgets and other information gathering for contract submissions
  • 6Collaborate coordinate and provide guidance to technical research staff senior leadership and other departments
  • 7Interact and coordinate with contracting officials program managers technical representatives and other government personnel
  • 8Collect data and information in response to NU-RES inquiries and requests over research compliance
  • 9Support Director of Research and other tasks as assigned
  • 10Travel as required to support program and project activities
  • 11Plan schedule and conduct research meetings workshops seminars and other ad hoc research meetings

Requirements11

  • 1US Citizenship is a requirement per Federal funding agency
  • 2PMP certification or relevant project management practical work experience can meet this requirement 5+ years
  • 3Bachelor’s degree with applicable work experience graduate degree preferred
  • 4Solid Knowledge of DoD program and contract management
  • 5Strong background in Supply Chain Procurement Manufacturing or other related technical specialty areas
  • 6Strong organizational skills with ability to manage multiple activities simultaneously
  • 7Demonstrated judgment for prioritization of multiple tasks
  • 8Excellent communication skills with customer internal and external service focus
  • 9Highly organized and detail oriented ability to problem solve effectively
  • 10Strong computer and IT knowledge especially in MS Office suite products and ability to learn new programs/systems
  • 11Ability to travel as required for initiative events stakeholder research collaboration meetings
