Release Management Engineer, CI/CD & Enterprise Applications
Overview
You will own the end-to-end release process for Marriott's enterprise application portfolio, coordinating deployments across CI/CD pipelines and managing multiple environments. Working with cross-functional teams, you will drive release trains from planning to production, ensuring stability and compliance. This role sits at the intersection of engineering, operations, and project management, offering exposure to Kubernetes, Jenkins, and GitLab in a large-scale environment.
What You'll Do8
- 1Plan and execute release trains for 200+ applications, coordinating with engineering, QA, and operations teams
- 2Design and maintain CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins and GitLab to automate build, test, and deployment steps
- 3Manage environment configurations across development, staging, and production, ensuring consistency using Ansible
- 4Drive the first 90 days to establish a release calendar, gate criteria, and rollback procedures
- 5Debug deployment issues in Kubernetes clusters, collaborating with developers to resolve blockers
- 6Implement change management processes to meet compliance requirements and audit controls
- 7Produce release metrics and post-mortems to identify process improvement opportunities
- 8Coordinate with release managers to prioritize features and hotfixes in upcoming windows
Requirements7
- 15+ years in release management or DevOps roles, with 2+ years in large enterprise environments
- 2Hands-on experience with Jenkins, GitLab CI, and Artifactory
- 3Proficiency in scripting with Python or Shell for automation
- 4Strong knowledge of Kubernetes, Docker, and AWS
- 5Experience with infrastructure as code using Terraform or Ansible
- 6Familiarity with change management tools like ServiceNow
- 7Excellent communication and coordination skills across distributed teams
