What You'll Do7

  • 1Administer medications and treatments to residents as prescribed, ensuring accurate dosage and timing.
  • 2Monitor and record vital signs, symptoms, and changes in patient conditions, reporting findings to the healthcare team within 24 hours.
  • 3Assist residents with activities of daily living such as bathing, dressing, and mobility support, promoting independence and dignity.
  • 4Collaborate with RNs, physicians, and other professionals to develop and update individualized care plans based on resident assessments.
  • 5Maintain accurate and detailed patient records in compliance with facility policies and state regulations, using EHR systems.
  • 6Educate residents and families on health maintenance and disease prevention strategies, tailoring information to their needs.
  • 7Enforce infection control and safety protocols to ensure a clean, safe environment for residents and staff.

Requirements9

  • 1Current and valid RN license in the state of Texas.
  • 2Completion of an accredited nursing program with an Associate's or Bachelor's degree.
  • 3BLS certification from the American Heart Association.
  • 4Demonstrated ability to perform nursing duties in a long-term care or rehabilitation setting.
  • 5Strong communication and interpersonal skills for resident and team interactions.
  • 6Preferred: Experience in a nursing home or rehabilitation facility.
  • 7Preferred: Additional certifications such as IV therapy or wound care.
  • 8Preferred: Familiarity with electronic health record (EHR) systems.
  • 9Preferred: Training in geriatric nursing or chronic disease management.
