Registered Nurse, Medical Surgical Oncology - Atrium Health Pineville
Overview
Join a new Oncology/Med-Surg unit at Atrium Health Pineville and grow with a team from the ground up. You'll own patient care for a diverse population including oncology, GI, respiratory, cardiac, diabetes, and short-stay surgeries. Work with a collaborative interprofessional team in an ANCC Pathways to Excellence organization. This part-time role (24 hours/week) offers 2, 12-hour night shifts with holiday and weekend rotation, plus eligibility for a sign-on bonus.
What You'll Do8
- 1Deliver comprehensive patient care using the nursing process for a diverse medical-surgical and oncology population.
- 2Coordinate care with the interprofessional team to ensure safe, therapeutic outcomes across the continuum.
- 3Apply evidence-based practice and clinical decision-making to lead efforts for the safest patient environment.
- 4Communicate compassionately with patients and families to enhance the patient experience.
- 5Drive shared governance through participation in the Unit Practice Council and pursue clinical ladder advancement.
- 6Maintain professional certification and stay current with BLS for Healthcare Providers certification.
- 7Document patient assessments, interventions, and outcomes accurately in the electronic health record.
- 8Adapt to a dynamic unit with a mix of oncology, surgical, and medical patients, ensuring quality care for all.
Requirements4
- 1Completion of an accredited or approved nursing program.
- 2Minimum of 6 months of Registered Nurse experience; not for new grads.
- 3Active Registered Nurse license issued by the state where practicing.
- 4Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers certification from the American Heart Association.
