Overview

You will own the delivery of evidence-based, patient-centered care in an ambulatory oncology setting, impacting over 6 million patients across Advocate Health's integrated system. Reporting through the nursing professional governance structure, you'll collaborate with interdisciplinary teams at Atrium Health's Levine Cancer Institute to influence outcomes across the continuum. This role stands out with direct involvement in quality initiatives and the authority to adjust care plans, mobilizing resources as patient conditions evolve.

What You'll Do8

  • 1Assess, plan, diagnose, implement, and evaluate nursing care using the nursing process, engaging patients and families across the care continuum.
  • 2Monitor patient conditions and adjust care plans in real time, mobilizing resources and collaborating with the care team to influence outcomes.
  • 3Lead unit councils and professional governance initiatives to integrate evidence-based practices into daily workflows.
  • 4Administer medications, treatments, and therapies safely according to clinical protocols and procedures.
  • 5Delegate appropriately to Registered Nurses, Licensed Practical Nurses, and unlicensed assistive personnel to optimize team performance.
  • 6Maintain accurate, timely EHR documentation to support care continuity and regulatory compliance.
  • 7Float to other units or facilities within the designated service area to meet patient care needs.
  • 8Promote a culture of safety by continuously evaluating patient, team, and unit outcomes and taking corrective action.

Requirements9

  • 1Graduate of a Board of Nursing approved nursing education program.
  • 21+ years of clinical nursing experience.
  • 3Active RN multi-state compact or single-state license with privileges to practice in the state(s) where providing services.
  • 4BLS certification.
  • 5Strong clinical judgment and critical thinking skills.
  • 6Proficiency with computer functions including EHR, email, and digital platforms.
  • 7Ability to sit, stand, walk, lift, and support the weight of 35 lbs in handling patients and equipment.
  • 8Physical ability to perform sliding transfers of 150 lbs with a second person present.
  • 9Preferred: BSN degree.
