Registered Nurse Medical Surgical Oncology
Overview
You'll own the delivery of comprehensive care for oncology, GI, respiratory, cardiac, and diabetes patients on Pineville's newest Med/Surg unit, 3 Pine. Your first 90 days focus on building rapport with your patient panel and contributing to the unit's shared governance council. You'll collaborate with an interprofessional team that values Clinical Ladder advancement and professional certification. This part-time role offers a 24-hour weekly schedule with 12-hour night shifts and the chance to shape a new unit's culture from day one.
What You'll Do9
- 1Deliver evidence-based nursing care for oncology and med/surg patients using the nursing process.
- 2Coordinate patient care plans with the interprofessional team to ensure safe, therapeutic outcomes.
- 3Communicate with patients and families, providing education and emotional support.
- 4Administer medications and treatments per protocol, monitoring for adverse reactions.
- 5Document patient assessments, interventions, and outcomes in the electronic health record.
- 6Lead efforts to maintain a safe patient environment, adhering to infection control standards.
- 7Participate in the Unit Practice Council to drive shared governance initiatives.
- 8Pursue professional certification and Clinical Ladder advancement opportunities.
- 9Support weekend and holiday rotation as part of the 24-hour weekly commitment.
Requirements5
- 16+ months of RN experience in a clinical setting
- 2Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of practice
- 3Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association
- 4Completion of an accredited or approved nursing program
- 5Ability to work 2, 12-hour night shifts per week, plus weekend and holiday rotations
