Registered Nurse Emergency Department - Lenexa City Center
Overview
You will own comprehensive patient care in a fast-paced Emergency Department at AdventHealth Lenexa City Center, managing 3-5 patients per shift. You'll join a multidisciplinary team of RNs, physicians, and specialists in a Level II Trauma Center that sees over 30,000 visits annually. This role offers 4 weeks paid parental leave and day-one benefits, with a focus on whole-person care and professional growth.
What You'll Do10
- 1Conduct comprehensive assessments of ED patients and develop individualized care plans.
- 2Administer medications and treatments per physician orders, monitoring for adverse reactions.
- 3Educate patients and families on health conditions and self-care strategies.
- 4Collaborate with medical staff and ancillary departments to coordinate patient care.
- 5Document patient information and interventions in electronic medical records.
- 6Evaluate care plans continuously and adjust to improve patient outcomes.
- 7Enforce infection control and safety protocols in the ED.
- 8Provide emotional support and therapeutic communication to patients and families.
- 9Supervise healthcare team members and delegate care tasks effectively.
- 10Respond to code situations with rapid interventions to stabilize patients.
Requirements8
- 11+ years in acute care hospital setting (preferred).
- 2Associate's of Nursing required; Bachelor's of Nursing preferred.
- 3Registered Nurse (RN) license required.
- 4Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
- 5Ability to assess and evaluate patient conditions with high-level reasoning.
- 6Effective verbal and written communication skills.
- 7Basic computer skills with Windows-based programs.
- 8Must be fluent in English.
