The Regional Category Specialist leads sourcing strategy for resins and liquids ensuring recyclable reusable compostable packaging. You will own sourcing decisions at scale while driving cost savings and innovation. This role shapes how Huhtamaki delivers sustainable packaging solutions worldwide.
What You'll Do11
- 1Design and execute sourcing plans at local and regional levels aligned with business objectives
- 2Manage the full 5-Step Sourcing Process securing stakeholder agreement and formal approval
- 3Pursue value generation through cost reduction value engineering and supplier driven innovation
- 4Develop and sustain long term supplier relationships conducting quarterly and annual performance assessments
- 5Lead contract negotiations to achieve competitive pricing and service quality
- 6Collaborate with operations R&D innovation and plant general managers to support strategic goals
- 7Monitor and document sourcing achievements via the SIP pipeline maintaining accurate spend data
- 8Contribute market trend insights and provide visibility on category performance
- 9Deliver agreed cost in out targets and report savings captured through SIP
- 10Ensure precision and punctuality of sourcing and spend data
- 11Drive multiple priorities with strong analytical mindset and negotiation abilities
Requirements10
- 15+ years in sourcing or procurement within a multinational company
- 2Experience managing procurement for petrochemicals preferably polystyrene and liquid industrial chemicals
- 3Proven impact on cost savings and financial improvement
- 4Success in contract negotiations total cost of ownership analysis and risk management
- 5Core skills in category management sourcing processes supplier evaluation and negotiation
- 6Strong financial acumen budgeting and forecasting
- 7Analytical mindset with negotiation and influencing abilities
- 8Understanding of international trade including incoterms and letters of credit
- 9Project management capabilities handling multiple priorities
- 10Ability to collaborate across cultures
