Recruiter, AI Security Nonprofit
Overview
Own recruiting for Security Level 5, a Bay Area AI security nonprofit defending frontier models against nation-state threats. You will build and run the entire recruiting function, from sourcing to offer close, for a team tripling in size. You will partner with CISOs and senior security staff to translate fuzzy hiring needs into clear roles. This role shapes how we hire the engineers who design the first SL5 datacenter.
What You'll Do9
- 1Own the full recruiting lifecycle, from sourcing to offer acceptance, for all open roles.
- 2Refine and improve the recruiting process to meet the demands of a fast-moving nonprofit.
- 3Source candidates through multiple channels, including referrals, inbound, and direct outreach.
- 4Screen candidates for technical and cultural fit, filtering out mismatches early.
- 5Coordinate interviews and manage candidate communication throughout the process.
- 6Drive offers to close, negotiating and closing exceptional candidates.
- 7Act as the first Security Level 5 touchpoint, presenting the mission and value proposition.
- 8Build scorecards and role definitions for each position, turning vague needs into clear criteria.
- 9Operate autonomously while keeping the team informed and aligned.
Requirements6
- 12+ years of full-cycle recruiting, including technical or research hiring.
- 2Experience owning an entire recruiting function and rebuilding processes.
- 3Technical expertise to assess candidates' skills and relevance from the start.
- 4Ability to work autonomously while maintaining team synchronization.
- 5Commitment to the mission of safe AI development and realistic risk assessment.
- 6Based in the Bay Area, available for in-person work.
