Overview

Supervise a small team of Records Analysts on evening or midnight shift in Central Warrants at Travis County Sheriff's Office. Lead warrant intake, data verification, TCIC/NCIC entry, confirmation, validation, and clearing. Report to the Central Warrants Manager in the Technology and Compliance Division, ensuring CJIS and TLETS compliance. Coach an experienced team, refine SOPs, and track KPIs for audit-ready records. What You'll Do10

  • 1Supervise a team of Records Analysts and Associates: set priorities, assign work, coach, evaluate performance, and recommend personnel actions.
  • 2Manage shift schedules and coverage, approve time and leave, and conduct shift huddles and 1:1s.
  • 3Lead the legal orders process: intake, data verification, TCIC/NCIC entry, confirmation, validation, modification, and clearing per retention rules.
  • 4Monitor queues and service levels, track accuracy, turnaround time, and backlog, and publish shift reports.
  • 5Plan and oversee training, maintain training logs and competency sign-offs, and assign remedial training when needed.
  • 6Resolve identity issues across RMS/JMS and IDB, coordinating fixes with Jail, Courts, Patrol, and ITS.
  • 7Serve as liaison with partner agencies on after-hours matters and escalations, protecting confidential records.
  • 8Ensure compliance with CJIS and TLETS policies, including TCIC/NCIC and operator certifications.
  • 9Compile shift metrics, support audits, and ensure documentation and chain of custody meet audit standards.
  • 10Coordinate with day-shift supervisors on SOPs and process improvements to sustain records integrity.

Requirements10

  • 15+ years of professional records management experience, including 1 year supervisory or management.
  • 2Bachelor's degree in Records Management, Public Administration, Business Administration, or related field.
  • 3Must complete TLETS/TCIC required training within 6 months of assignment.
  • 4Knowledge of federal, state, local, and county laws, rules, and regulations for records management.
  • 5Skills in problem-solving, decision-making, and interpreting written, verbal, or diagram instructions.
  • 6Ability to plan, assign, and coordinate work of support staff and train others in records management.
  • 7Ability to compile and analyze data, write clear reports, and maintain databases.
  • 83+ years of first-line people management in a 24/7 or high-volume public safety, court, or records environment.
  • 9Experience with TLETS, Nlets, and TCIC/NCIC Full Access; TAC or LASO training preferred.
  • 10Proficiency with RMS/JMS, IDB, and Microsoft Excel for QA and reporting.
