Real Estate Attorney, Transactional & Lender Representation
Overview
You will independently manage commercial and residential real estate transactions from contract to closing for a 300-person firm with a seven-state reach. Represent lenders in loan origination and REO closings, coordinating with clients, title companies, and internal paralegals. Your work directly drives the firm's revenue and client satisfaction, with a clear path to higher responsibility as you grow. This role stands out for its mix of lender-side work and the autonomy you'll have over your deal pipeline.
What You'll Do7
- 1Manage commercial and residential real estate transactions from contract through closing.
- 2Represent lenders in lending transactions, drafting, reviewing, and negotiating loan documents.
- 3Coordinate and oversee closings, including preparing Closing Disclosures (CDs) and related documents.
- 4Review corporate formation and organizational documents for lending and real estate deals.
- 5Analyze title reports, resolve title issues, and ensure title clearance before closing.
- 6Supervise paralegal workflow to keep files moving on schedule.
- 7Communicate with clients on transaction status, legal issues, recommendations, and closing timelines.
Requirements9
- 12-5 years independently handling real estate transactions.
- 2Experience representing lenders in closing transactions.
- 3Knowledge of transactional and Real Estate Owned (REO) closing practices, laws, and documents.
- 4Proven track record bringing in at least 1 real estate transaction per month.
- 5Admission to the New York State Bar, NJ Bar preferred.
- 6Experience with REO closings and private financing origination preferred.
- 7Superior writing, legal research, and analytic skills.
- 8Ability to identify and resolve legal issues quickly and proficiently.
- 9Independent, deadline-driven worker who manages heavy workloads under pressure.
