Rail Service Technician, Class A CDL & Hazmat for Locomotive Fueling
Overview
Class A CDL Hazmat & Tanker Driver needed for locomotive fueling and servicing in Charlotte on a home-daily schedule. You will work with specialized equipment to support railroad operations, receiving paid training and joining a critical, year-round operation. This role combines hands-on field work with steady schedules across day and night shifts.
What You'll Do10
- 1Build and perform daily locomotive inspections and servicing tasks to ensure safety and compliance
- 2Load traction sand, potable water, and lube oil and verify fluid levels
- 3Operate truck-mounted service equipment and controls to service locomotives
- 4Stock locomotives with water and crew supplies and maintain cabs and restrooms
- 5Evacuate and dispose of locomotive waste using approved procedures
- 6Follow all company, railroad, DOT, and safety procedures
- 7Fuel locomotives with specialized equipment on on-call runs between Allentown, Philadelphia, and Baltimore
- 8Inspect and document fueling operations and equipment readiness
- 9Maintain safety around active rail equipment and adhere to handling protocols
- 10Work outdoors in all weather and adapt to nontraditional dispatch times
Requirements10
- 1Class A CDL with Hazmat endorsement
- 2Tanker endorsement required
- 3Valid DOT Medical Examiner's Certificate (Med Card)
- 4FMCSA Clearinghouse compliant
- 5Acceptable MVR
- 6Pass company, customer, railroad, and government background checks
- 7Strong safety focus and reliability
- 8Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- 9Willingness to work nights, weekends, and holidays
- 10Residence within 40 miles of Allentown, PA
