What You'll Do8

  • 1Prepare patients for radiologic procedures and take x-rays following established safety and care protocols.
  • 2Operate PACS, DR, and CR equipment to capture high-quality diagnostic images.
  • 3Position patients and adjust immobilization devices to obtain optimal views as requested by physicians.
  • 4Explain procedures to patients to reduce anxiety and ensure cooperation.
  • 5Set exposure factors based on patient height, weight, and body part, then adjust equipment controls for proper image detail.
  • 6Practice radiation protection techniques to minimize exposure to patients and staff.
  • 7Stock radiology rooms and maintain medical and radiologic supplies.
  • 8Perform routine and specialized diagnostic radiology procedures as assigned.

Requirements6

  • 1Graduate of an accredited X-Ray Technologist Program.
  • 2Certified Registered Technician of Radiography (RT-R) with ARRT Certification.
  • 31+ years of experience in diagnostic radiography preferred.
  • 4Proficiency with PACS, DR, and CR systems.
  • 5Competence in patient positioning and radiation safety protocols.
  • 6Ability to explain procedures clearly to patients.
