Quality Technician Warranty
Overview
You will lead daily Warranty Lab operations and coordinate with Quality Engineers to analyze returns and drive corrective actions. Working with QMS and EMS systems, you will perform electrical, mechanical, and functional tests, plus dimensional measurements. You will support EDER processes, manage warranty flow, and maintain lab 5S. This role offers direct impact on customer satisfaction and warranty cost reduction in an automotive supplier environment.
What You'll Do10
- 1Lead daily Warranty Lab function and coordinate with Quality Engineers on test priorities.
- 2Perform electrical, mechanical, and functional tests on returned parts using specified protocols.
- 3Conduct visual inspection and dimensional measurement with gauges and instruments per work manual.
- 4Analyze warranty return parts to identify root causes and support corrective action development.
- 5Document test results and evidence, then communicate findings to cross-functional teams.
- 6Calibrate gauging equipment according to established procedures to ensure accuracy.
- 7Record data using statistical process control methods and report in required formats.
- 8Manage warranty return flow, including reception, shipping, and database updates for EDER.
- 9Maintain lab 5S and support continuous improvement to achieve 1-second part retrieval.
- 10Provide technical support to internal departments to sustain and improve product quality.
Requirements8
- 13+ years experience in quality testing or warranty analysis in a manufacturing environment.
- 2Technical school or Associate's degree in engineering, electronics, or related field.
- 3Hands-on experience with electrical and mechanical test equipment and measurement tools.
- 4Familiarity with QMS and EMS standards such as IATF 16949 and ISO 14001.
- 5Proficiency in data recording and analysis using SPC software and spreadsheets.
- 6Ability to calibrate gauges and interpret technical drawings and work instructions.
- 7Strong communication skills for reporting to engineers and supporting cross-functional teams.
