Quality Manager, Die Cast & Machining
Overview
Lead quality assurance for ConMet's Northwest die cast and machining plants, covering Clackamas, OR and Vancouver, WA. You will own the full quality program across two facilities, managing customer concerns, PPAP submissions, and IATF16949 compliance. This role reports to plant leadership and works with cross-functional teams on the floor. You will be the primary quality contact for customers, suppliers, and internal teams, driving corrective actions and continuous improvement. The position demands 5-10 years of quality assurance experience in a similar production environment, with IATF 16949 certification required. It offers a hands-on role with direct impact on product quality and customer satisfaction.
What You'll Do9
- 1Review daily on-the-floor quality issues with department management to determine corrective actions.
- 2Manage customer nonconforming product returns, including disposition and restocking decisions.
- 3Lead customer corrective actions (8D reports) and visit customer facilities to report on quality improvement actions.
- 4Issue supplier corrective actions and work with suppliers on incoming product quality issues.
- 5Oversee the PPAP process to ensure complete and timely submission to customers, including dimensional review of supplier products and feedback to the corporate supplier quality group.
- 6Serve as the management representative for the IATF16949 system, ensuring compliance and maintaining system documentation.
- 7Incorporate customer requirements from Supplier Quality Manuals and Packaging Guidelines into plant documentation.
- 8Ensure all required testing (dimensional, X-Ray, material, chemical) is completed per customer requirements.
- 9Maintain awareness of how activities contribute to quality objectives and promote a safe work environment.
Requirements7
- 15-10 years of quality assurance experience in a manufacturing environment, with a Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination.
- 2Experience in an IATF 16949 certified manufacturing environment, required.
- 3Knowledge of aluminum manufacturing principles and processes.
- 4Strong communication, problem-solving, and Microsoft Office skills.
- 5Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
- 6Experience with SAP is preferred.
- 7Must be authorized to work in the US without visa sponsorship.
