Quality Manager, Aerospace Manufacturing & AS9100
Overview
Lead the Quality Control team at a Garden Grove, CA aerospace manufacturer and own inspection operations for AS9100 and ISO 9001 compliance. Supervise 10+ inspectors, coordinate First Article Inspections (FAI), and drive Lean improvements across production. Report directly to senior leadership and partner with engineering, production, and customers to resolve quality issues and maintain certification in a direct-hire role with a $100K+ salary.
What You'll Do8
- 1Lead and supervise Quality Control inspection personnel, setting priorities to meet production schedules and customer requirements.
- 2Coordinate First Article Inspections (FAI), receiving, in-process, final, and shipping inspections to ensure AS9100 compliance.
- 3Interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and specifications to verify product conformity and customer standards.
- 4Manage inspection schedules, workloads, and departmental resources to eliminate bottlenecks and meet delivery dates.
- 5Investigate quality issues, perform root cause analysis, and implement corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
- 6Maintain accurate quality records and inspection documentation for audits and certification.
- 7Enforce Quality Management System (QMS), safety, environmental, and housekeeping standards across the department.
- 8Support Lean manufacturing and continuous improvement initiatives to reduce waste and improve throughput.
Requirements8
- 110+ years in aerospace manufacturing, quality assurance, or machine shop environments.
- 2Strong knowledge of AS9100, ISO 9001, and Lean Manufacturing principles.
- 3Experience with CMM inspection and technical drawing interpretation preferred.
- 4Proven leadership and team management skills in a manufacturing setting.
- 5Excellent problem-solving and organizational skills with attention to detail.
- 6Strong communication skills; bilingual English/Vietnamese preferred.
- 7Ability to work in both office and manufacturing environments, with 50% sitting and 50% standing.
- 8Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in a technical field.
